I am Alicia and I am a book lover. I get excited going to the library or walking into a bookstore, and I can’t imagine a life where I’m not thinking about the next book to read. I am also an otaku, and a hopeless one at that. I spent a great period of time in my life battling these two different sides of me before I realized that I could, in fact, be both. As a result, The Grumpy Librarian is a place where a love of anime merges with a love of reading.
I love literary fiction and urban fantasy the most, and I’m drawn to anything with the promise of monsters, lore, and blood. Ever since I started Project Bungou Stray Dogs – originating from my deep, deep obsession with the anime of the same name – I have also grown fond of Japanese literature. My favorite kinds of manga vary, but they’re usually full of a lot of action, and I read shōnen manga almost exclusively.
Despite the title of my blog, I am actually a giant pile of mush. I get flustered over a single compliment and stop to pet every single dog I see. If I ever come across as abrasive, it’s usually because I’m uncomfortable or confused. Please don’t be afraid to contact me, I’ll adore you.
I also have a Goodreads profile, so feel free to stalk me there. 😉
